Veering away from our usual frock filled windows, we are focusing this week on outerwear instead. In particular; the Burberry trench.  Ever wonder why they are called ‘trench’ coats? Well, it’s because Burberry (or Aquascutum-the jury is still out on this) developed the coat for use by the British and French soldiers fighting in the trenches during WWI. Now you know! Get ready to fight the elements this fall and dodge those drops in a classic piece that is tried and true.

I’m releasing my inner dominatrix this week (not really) by giving you a black leather filled window. Fun fact; I cut my teeth in many a retail shop before opening the Meow Meow and Danier leather (RIP) was one of them. Therefore I may know a thing or two about skins. One things for sure, I can tell you that all three items featured here are made of fine supple lamb leather. Only the best for you kittens!

L~Thierry Mugler 1990’s black leather dress, size 4-6.

C~1980’s black leather pleated and studded skirt, size 0-2. Worn with a Leger top, size XS and a Dior necklace.

R~Contemporary Mikael D leather and lace dress, size 2-4. Worn with a Burberry London quilted leather peplum jacket, size 0-2.

We are back in black today kittens! And we are feeling a little edgy this week too, hence the leather jacket on the left. It’s by Burberry and is a size 4-6 (sold). We have balanced it out with a super soft, feminine,  3 tiered silk chiffon skirt in a size 4 Sold. In store, that centre gown has been creating a buzz with our clients. They are swooning over this 1940’s Italian couture taffeta and tulle wonder (in a size 6)sold. She has been accessorized with a 1950’s Cappola e Toppo crystal necklace. Crossing over to the right, we have a 1950’s crossover bust dress in a size 2 (sold). A Sherman jet wreath brooch has been added, adorning the strap.
