We didn’t quite know what to call this colour…… Ice blue, steel blue, slate blue or periwinkle blue? We decided to settle on powder blue, as it’s soft with a hint of grey. The Prada dress on the left is one of ten incredibly beautiful dresses that we received in this week. We hope to feature them all for you  in the window before they sell. There are some really exquisite pieces from houses like Chanel, Oscar and Valli just to name a few. Pop in soon for a peek!

L~ Prada appliqué on organza dress, size 4-6. Sold

C~ Ceil Chapman (Marilyn M’s fav)1950’s  silk chiffon gown, size 6.

R~ 1960’s hand crochet raffia dress, size 4-6. Worn with a 1970’s crystal necklace.

We know how much you ladies like your dresses with full skirts so we’ve decided to give you a double dosage of volume this week. Just to plump you up a little for the holidays. These aren’t your regular LBD’s kittens, click to zoom in on the intricate details of their lace/silk/beadwork. Lefty lacey is by one of Marilyn Monroe’s fav designers; Ceil Chapman. It’s about a size 0 (if that, super tiny) and dates from the 1950’s. Worn with a jet crystal necklace.  The 1960’s centre hand beaded sheath is about a size 12 and does have sleeves (a recent addition that can be removed easily should you choose). The dazzling 1950’s number on the right is about a size 6 and has been paired with a 60’s multi chain & coin statement necklace.

We realize this combo is a bit of a stretch, but we just had to put these beauties together in the window for you. We’ve entitled them “The Autumn Roses”. Lefty is a Ceil Chapman, Marilyn Monroe’s personal fav designer. She wore many of Chapman’s dresses for public appearances to show off her “assets”.  Iconic bombshell approved!
