Here’s a frosty treat to cool down this hot week we’ve been having.

We’re including a back shot of this week’s display, because the walk away factor IS important. Left hand beaded gown is a size 2-6, the knit gives it room and is comfortable to wear. The centre brocade jacket with mother of pearl buttons is also from the 1960’s and is really a one size fits all. The right 1990’s beaded asymmetrical fluter dress is a size 6-8.

Every cloud has a silver lining, as does this new window display. We are totally swooning over the Naeem Khan on the right!! This flapper girl dress is completely covered in silver bugle beads that sway to and fro with every movement. It’s hypnotizing, really. It would takes a strong gal to wear this dress as all those glass beads weigh a ton! There is enough of them to stop a bullet, which could be useful should you find yourself at an ultra chic establishment that’s in the sketchy part of town….. Fashion AND function in a size 4-6 Sold

Centre hand beaded contemporary bridal dress is a size 4 and has been paired with a 1950’s crystal necklace and 1960’s crystal belt. The 1960’s wool knit and hand sequined trench on the left is a general size S.

Some colours come and go in and out of style. But from our experience, the colour of blush has always been a fav amongst you ladies.  This may be because of  it’s femininity, grace and softness. When paired with grey we find it gives depth, sincerity and contrast. Whatever the occasion may be, we don’t think you can go wrong with the kiss of blush.

Left dress is a size 6 and is from the 1960’s. The centre show stopper is a 1950’s satin frock in a size 2-4 (sold)and is paired with a rosé glass pearl and  crystal necklace. Righty girl is donning a 1950’s lace dress in size 4 that has been accessorized with a 1960’s hand beaded belt.

We’ve got the blues here this week at 180 Avenue… We are having these sads because nobody has worn that Pucci on the right out yet!!! It’s just twirling it’s tags, patiently waiting for someBODY to take it to an event. This backless silk print & sleeved frock is a perfect size 4 Sold. It’s current companions are both from the 1950’s. Centre dame is a hand beaded silk chiffon confection, size 0-2. Lefty cool cotton is a size 6 Sold

This post is definitely garden party approved! Just grab pair of  wedges (to avoid aerating your host’s lawn. Unless it needs it, then go for heels(?)) and you’re off to the races.  Both the left (Sold) and right dresses are from the 1930’s & are cut on the bias.  This gives them some fluidity, so they are both a general size small. Fast forward 80+ years to the centre silk dress, by Dries Van Noten. This contemporary boho frock is a size 6. Deco glass flapper necklace sold separately.

We’re going 180° from last week’s look with this fresh, casual/girly display. We got excited putting together these looks for you and people seem to be digging it on the sidewalk and over on our instagram account.  The left is very ‘can’t be late for the safari’, isn’t it? This 1960’s dress is from Holt Renfrew (size 6) and is paired with a vintage swiss watch pendant sold. In the centre we are featuring a hand embroidered silk flower frock that dates from the 1950’s, it’s a size 6-8. On the right we have a contemporary Escada (size 10) paired with a brand new Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily python bag Sold. Are you drooling? Perhaps you should contact us for help?

♥Welcome to our 500th post!♥

Let’s celebrate with some plaid, shall we? We’ve been waiting patiently to do this window as collecting enough of the tartan print can take awhile in vintage land. We had to cheat a little bit by sneaking in that gingham number but it plays nicely with the others, don’t you think? It is a size 4 Sold. The plaid pouf on the right hails from the 50’s and is a size 0. The centre 1970’s Geoffrey Beene gown totally gives us ‘Windows of Culloden’ vibes with it’s black lace overlay. It also has pockets for posing with, a true size 0.

We’ve had quite the injection of new merchandise over the last week and this display is just a sampling of what’s now in store. How chic is that centre gown? We are absolutely in love with it,  and this may be because it’s a vintage DIOR from the early 1950’s!!!  It’s about a size 2-4 and would be a coveted addition to any collection. The 1960’s ruffled cocktail number to the left is a size 2, as is the dress on the right.

Our mannequins have gone soft and feminine in 50’s frocks this week. Go ahead and click on the pic to zoom in and see the details, especially on that centre dress. It’s fabric is an organza that is completely covered in prong set crystals, evoking a glittery constellation of sorts.

Left=size 6. Middle=size 10 Sold. Right=size 0
