We love ourselves a little black dress, now and again. LBD for short, but big on versatility. We always make sure that our stock is plump and full of them, so that our clients are spoiled for choice.  This weeks window combines our love of hand beading and LBD’s, and together they are purely magical!

On display

This week’s window features garments all made in the 1960’s, from the ‘British Crown Colony of Hong Kong’.  Back then, the more elaborate work, such as hand beading and sequining, was all done there. It boggles our minds how incredible and time consuming these couture pieces are. Each tiny sequin has been placed and stitched by hand! The lining is impeccably sewn and piped as well, some in silk.  The middle trench is our favorite, we have never seen anything quite like it. Eat your heart out Burberry!

This is our first sultry sapphire window, we have wanted to do one for oh so long. Never can we keep the “gems” in stock long enough to pop them in our window. So go ahead, saturate yourself in sapphire!

We’ve been a fan of turquoise since dad rocked the big turquoise man ring, back in the eighties.  It’s a nice bold punch of colour,  and we have paired it with gold for this week’s display.

When the skies of the economy turn a slate grayish mauve colour, why not invest in gold? It holds it’s value and is on the rise.  They say that there is a silver lining to every cloud, we think it’s actually a white gold lining. So show others that you’re worth your weight in karat!

Shhhh…. Come Closer. We’ll give you a hint, a hint of colour that is.  These beauties have just a whisper of colour. Beaded jacket hails from the 60’s and would look terrific worn casually with jeans or as an impressive evening cover. 1950’s beaded lace and a sequined silk dress finish this ‘quietly’ elegant trio. This is one secret you’ll want to share with envious admirers.

Like chocolate mousse, we’ve whipped together this frothy confection of a window, for your pallet. As enticeing as a fine box of chocolates tied with a gold ribbon. Bon appetite! *muah*

With T.I.F.F. starting today, we decided to do another black window.  What’s better than a LBD on the red carpet? Classic never goes out of style, nor do these dresses all dating from the 1950’s. Please contact us for details.

Our current window is an ode to Mr. Fortuny. Although we don’t have any of his masterpieces to display, we do have some modern takes on his stylish textiles.  Our Judy’s are loving their pleated party with dresses dating from the 60’s through the 90’s. (The fabulous Judy on the right is wearing a late 70’s Halston) Please contact us for details.
